This Week Around the Diocese

Parish of Branxton Greta Lochinvar

The Parish of Branxton Greta Lochinvar held a lovely All Souls picnic Eucharist on November 2 in Lochinvar.

Parish of Telarah-Rutherford

The Parish of Telarah Rutherford held a wonderful Mass for the souls of the faithful departed at Campbell’s Hill cemetery. “We literally felt the spirits fly as we prayed for our deceased brothers and sisters … then enjoyed a little picnic tea afterwards”.

Mission to Seafarers Newcastle

The Mission to Seafarers welcomed nine Seafarers from China on the ship “Feisty Karen” for some shore leave. “Their faces opened up smiling in delight, at our pristine beaches, clear skies, clean sands, welcoming novocastrians and MTS for the contact. Our pleasure, always!”
They liked the quick tour around town, and doing the memorial walk down to Bar Beach car park, then shopping before returning to duty on board.

Parish of Cardiff

The Parish of Cardiff All Souls on November 2.

Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College

A huge congratulations to BTAC Student Maddison Elliott who over the weekend attended the Australian Swimming Awards for 2016 where she took out the Australian Paralympic of the Year Award. This is a well deserved and fantastic accolade for Maddi following her performances at Rio.

Anglican Care

Whilst I’m sure being at the actual Melbourne Cup is a lot of fun, I don’t think anything could surpass the atmosphere and shenanigans at Toronto Nursing Home yesterday – looks like a great celebration.
