This Week Around the Diocese
Parish of Branxton Greta Lochinvar
Mother Jane and Mother Moira (from the Parish of Telarah Rutherford) headed off to Dunedoo last week to deliver donated good. The parish and local community put together goods for those affected by the recent fires in Dunedoo. “All very grateful to the parishes of Branxton/Greta/Lochinvar and Telarah/Rutherford and St Paul’s Rutherford and the Greta Public School.”
Parish of Mt Vincent and Weston
The Barney’s Club kids worked on their teamwork skills while cooling off outside last week with a wet sponge balancing activity. So much fun trying to walk with a wet sponge on your head to fill the jug first.
Parish of Telarah-Rutherford
Mother Moira attended Mass at St Paul’s Primary School last week where garden stewards were commissioned. “These stewards will be helping us tend our parish community garden -Fiacre’s Feast- as well as their own school veggie patch. We are looking forward to this new partnership … thanks St Paul’s and a big thank you to these young stewards”.
Parish of Gosford
Fr Rod Bower, Fr Chris Jackson and the Parish marked the beginning of the season of Lent at an Ash Wednesday service.
Parish of Stroud
The parish welcomed visitors from Sydney for the Eucharist for the First Sunday in Lent. They covered the font as a visible reminder of Lent’s preparation for our Easter renewal of baptismal promises.
Parish of Toronto
Lots of fun at Tots ‘n’ Tunes this week – enjoyed by young old.
A fantastic day was held at Warnervale Gardens recently when they held a lovely Cancer Council Fundraiser Day in memory of dear friends.
Parish of Stockton
The parish held a World Day of Prayer service for The Philippines on March 3.
Christ Church Cathedral
Fr Paul celebrated with the parish last week to wish Tiny Taylor a happy birthday. She turned 102! Plus Canon Julia, Rev’d Sally and Vivienne Nelson lead the Cathedral Lenten Study Groups. The Dean was in Vivienne’s group – exploring prayer and art – a hands on session with clay! Pictured: Vivienne and some of our creations.
