Each year, the Cluster Parishes of West Maitland take the opportunity to gather together for an ‘In-House’ Retreat in the last weekend of July.
It’s a chance to slow down the pace of life and nurture souls through prayer, reflection, and teaching.
The theme for 2026 was ‘Enclosed Within The Scriptural Circle’.
The retreat director was Brisbane-based spiritual director and author, Dr Patrick Oliver.
Together, the group reflected on how the themes of selected passages of scripture mirror the themes that can be observed within their own lives.
They were encouraged to see how their lives fit into a much larger and richer whole that sits within the life of God.
All who were able to be present across the weekend appreciated the deep wisdom of both the teaching and the experience of the group.
The parish community is now looking forward to its next retreat in July 2027.
Keep an eye on the Maitland Anglican Parish Facebook page for details of upcoming events and other information.
