There is something special about reaching 100 days of Kindergarten.
It is a milestone that celebrates far more than a number. It marks 100 days of new experiences, growing confidence, making friends, overcoming challenges, and countless moments of learning.
For our Kindergarten students at Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College, the first 100 days of school are a time of incredible growth.
They are learning to navigate new routines, take greater responsibility for themselves and their belongings, and become independent in the classroom and beyond.
They are also discovering what it means to be part of a community. Each day brings opportunities to build relationships with teachers and classmates, listen to others, share, and show kindness.
Along the way, students develop resilience as they try new things, solve problems and discover that it is okay to make mistakes and try again.
Of course, there is plenty of learning happening in the classroom too!
Through purposeful play, hands-on experiences, stories, conversations and engaging activities, students are developing the foundations of literacy and numeracy.
They are building vocabulary, exploring sounds and letters, developing reading and writing skills, and discovering numbers, patterns, shapes and mathematical thinking through meaningful experiences.
For families and staff, the changes can be just as noticeable. Drop-offs become easier, routines feel more comfortable, and students become more confident asking questions, expressing their ideas, and seeking help when they need it.
For Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College, 100 Days of Kindy is an opportunity to celebrate our youngest learners, not only for what they have achieved, but for who they are becoming.
These first 100 days are just the beginning of their educational journey, and we look forward to seeing where their curiosity and growing sense of belonging will take them.
